
Dr. Arian Nowbahari is an italian film director e producer, painter and electronic engineer based in Oslo, Norway. He is the founder of New Spring Productions™.
He was born in Sassari, Italy, on February 24th 1995, and his heritage traces back to Kurdish roots.
He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Subsequently, he earned a Ph.D. in Applied Micro- and NanoSystems from the University of South-Eastern Norway in 2023. Prior to this, he served as an invited researcher at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in NY, USA. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles published in international journals. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Application Engineer with Sony Semiconductor Solutions.
As a painter, he’s represented by Saatchi Art and has participated in several exhibitions in Italy. Notably, he held a solo exhibition at the Archaeological Museum of Olbia in 2019, exhibited with MAD (Movement Art and Design) at Marconi Day in Golfo Aranci, Italy, in both 2020 and 2022, and participated in the Kurder Kunstnere i Norge exhibition at Støperiet Scene in Tønsberg, Norway, in 2023. In 2025, he presented a solo exhibition at Nordic Black Theatre in Oslo. He’s also been recognized for his talent, listed in the Aesthetica Artists’ Directory (Issue 108, August 2022).
As a film director and producer, he led several productions such as ‘Wille zur Macht’ (Italy, 2022), ‘When the Tea Gets Cold’ (USA, 2023), and “Twelve Minutes” (Norway, 2024). His skill in directing has garnered acclaim worldwide, with over 24 awards and 18 official selections across diverse countries including the USA, Austria, Australia, Argentina, Canada, UAE, India, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, and Turkey.
